Antwerp Mural
For the Hilton Antwerp Old Town I was asked to make a mural on their roof terrace. The subject was Antwerp itself and they wanted me to make a mural which shows several unique subjects/stories of this great Belgian city.
The main theme in this 7x5 meter mural is Antwerps hand. The story goes that the city's name Antwerpen comes from "hand werpen"(hand throwing). A mythe that the giant Antigoon's his hand was cut of by Silvius Brabo and thrown over the river Scheldt.
The different subjects and stories I used in this mural are:
Central station // diamonds // Belgian beer // the cathedral // the story of Lange Wapper
City hall // Rubens // the MAS building // Port of Antwerp // guild houses // Nello & Pastrasche
