Floating Cityzen, NDSM 2020

 I painted this personal work at the NDSM-warf in Amsterdam last month. These paintings are based on a sketch I made some time ago. Playing with the concept of creating floating cityscapes combining buildings, means of transport etc. and human forms. We are the city and make the city our own. 

These paintings make me think of a song I often heard as a child growing up: Telegraph Road by the Dire Straits. Also this city, painted on a legal graffiti spot, will disappear with time passing by. These paintings arise on the spot and are created intuitive by adding colored forms and line work.
